Dell Technologies (DELL) and HPE (HPE) shares are selling off after the PC makers reported quarterly results. TECHnalysis Research president and chief analyst Bob O'Donnell joins Julie Hyman and Josh Lipton on Market Domination to discuss three things he believes will send PC maker stocks higher in 2025. "I think [2025] is the year where we see a lot of this happen. We think about it on the commercial side. You've got several different factors going on. Number one we are four-plus years past the pandemic, and a lot of PCs were bought at the beginning of the pandemic. And that four-plus year time frame is when there's typically a refresh anyway." "Number two, we have the transition to Windows 11 being driven by the end of support for Windows 10, and that's happening again in 2025," and lastly, "the move to the AI PC." The analyst says, given these three driving factors, "You've got a lot of businesses [that are going to have to refresh their PCs in [2025], and that's going to help both Dell and HP." Mexican retailer Grupo Elektra on Wednesday called a shareholders' meeting in which it will propose privatizing the company, which would make it the latest to exit Mexico's main stock exchange. Trading in the retailer, controlled by magnate Ricardo Salinas, was been suspended on and off for several months after the company said it had been informed by its controlling group regarding a possible fraud by depositaries of their shares. Elektra said in a filing that 95% of its shareholders have expressed interest in taking the firm private, and will take the matter to a vote at the meeting, scheduled for Dec. 27.

Investors were grappling with fresh U.S. inflation data and its implications for Federal Reserve policy along with continued fallout from Donald Trump's tariff pledges as trading in the U.S. was thinning out ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
