Looking for a Property That’s near an MRT Station?

Phase 1 of the Cross Island Line (CRL1) is targeted to be completed in 2029. The 29km-long CRL1 comprises 12 MRT stations and is expected to benefit over 100,000 households across Loyang, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Serangoon North, and Ang Mo Kio Cross Island Line.

The proximity of an MRT station is an important factor to consider when buying, renting, or investing in a property in Singapore, especially for those who value easy access to public transport nodes. Given that many Singaporeans rely on public transportation to travel to work or school, this is unsurprising.

According to a study, residential property prices within 400m of an MRT station could fetch 13.2% higher on average than those further away. This is known as the ‘MRT effect’. As such, we can only expect that housing near the Cross Island Line will fetch a higher price once the stations are up and running.
