COE premiums closed mixed in last bidding before new quota period
COE prices fell for car categories and commercial vehicles, while motorcycles and the open category rose.
SINGAPORE — Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums closed mixed in the latest bidding exercise that ended on Wednesday (19 July).
Premiums for Category A – which include cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp or electric vehicles (EV) up to 110kW – closed at S$95,202, down from S$97,000 in the previous exercise.
For Category B, or cars above 1600cc and 130bhp as well as electric vehicles (EVs) higher than 110kW, prices fell by a dollar from S$118,002 in the last bidding exercise to S$118,001.
COE prices for commercial vehicles, which include goods vehicles and buses, fell by S$222 to S$82,001 from S$82,223 in the previous bidding exercise.

Meanwhile, motorcycle premiums, or Category D, closed higher at S$10,501 from S$10,090 in the last exercise.
Open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type except for motorcycles, rose to S$122,110 from S$121,000 in the last exercise.
A total of 2,546 bids were received in this exercise, with a quota of 1,792 COEs available.
Bidding under the new quota period from August to October 2023 will begin on 7 August, with a total of 11,019 COEs available for bidding.
