Close to 13,000 BTO flats offered by HDB for the last 2 sales launches of 2023

HDB's October BTO launch will see about 6,800 flats on offer while 6,000 more will be launched in December.

SINGAPORE — About 6,800 flats will be offered in the upcoming Build-To-Order (BTO) sales launch in October 2023, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) announced on Monday (2 October).

According to HDB, the flats will be offered in the Choa Chu Kang, Kallang Whampoa, Queenstown, and Tengah town/estate.

For the final BTO sales launch taking place in December 2023, HDB will offer about 6,000 flats in towns and estates such as Bukit Panjang, Jurong West, Woodlands, Bedok, Bishan, Bukit Merah and Queenstown.

HDB said that the numbers are subject to review as more project details will be firmed up closer to the launch date. The housing board said that it remains on track to launch 23,000 BTO flats in 2023 and a total of 100,000 flats from 2021 to 2025.

Estimate of HDB Resale Price Index (RPI)

Over at the resale market, HDB said that its third-quarter 2023 flash estimate of the Resale Price Index (RPI) is 178.4. This is an increase of 1.2 per cent from the second quarter of 2023, but lower than the 1.5 per cent growth achieved in that quarter. The latest RPI flash estimate is also lower than the average quarterly growth of 2.5 per cent in 2022.

The number of HDB resale transactions was up in the third quarter of 2023. As of 28 September, resale volume was 6,592 or 2.9 per cent higher than the previous quarter.

On a year-on-year basis, however, the latest quarterly resale volume was 9.7 per cent lower than the same period last year, where there were 7,298 cases. It is also the lowest third-quarter volume in the last three years since 2020.
