MacPherson MP Tin Pei Ling joins DCS as managing director

Tin Pei Ling joined the company last month after resigning from Grab.

SINGAPORE – MacPherson Member of Parliament (MP) Tin Pei Ling, 39, has been appointed the managing director of fintech firm DCS Card Centre, formerly known as Diners Club Singapore.

Tin joined the company last month after resigning from Grab. She had confirmed her resignation around a month ago, and revealed she was joining another firm but did not reveal the name of the company at the time.

In another statement on her LinkedIn page on Monday (2 October), Tin announced that she has joined DCS, formerly known as Diners Club SG, to lead its strategic partnerships and business development division.

"Today is my first day at work and it's been great! In this role, I will focus on establishing strategic partnerships to reinforce our position as a leading and innovative player in the payment landscape and driving future market expansion," she said.

"This is exciting as I can now play a more active role in the commercial and strategic side of business and in an industry sector that I have been watching with interest."

DCS Card Centre is a financial institution licensed to carry on the business of issuing credit cards or charge cards in Singapore, governed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) under the Banking Act.

The company was founded in Singapore in 1973 as an exclusive franchisee of Diners Club International and have since been operating under the company name of "Diners Club Singapore", a pioneer of cashless payments with the first credit and charge cards issued in Singapore.

In October 2022, the financial institution was officially renamed to DCS Card Centre in line with its business transformation.

Where did Tin Pei Ling work before?

Prior to this, Tin spent four-and-a-half years as the chief executive officer of Business China, a non-profit organisation seeking to cultivate Singapore-China relationships. According to her LinkedIn profile, Tin remains a board member there.

She has also worked at Jing King Tech Holdings, now known as Adera Global, and Ernst and Young.

Tin was elected to Parliament as part of the five-member People's Action Party team contesting in Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency (GRC). She then became the MP taking care of the MacPherson ward within the GRC.

She was elected MP for MacPherson Single Member Constituency in 2015, a seat she successfully defended in the 2020 general election.

Tin is married and has two children.
