Dec 2023 BTO sales exercise: 250 HDB Community Care Apartments to be offered in Bedok
The CCA is a public housing assisted living concept jointly developed by the Ministry of National Development (MND), Ministry of Health (MOH) and HDB.
SINGAPORE — Around 250 Community Care Apartments (CCA) unit in Bedok will be offered in the upcoming December 2023 sales exercise, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) announced on Thursday (30 November).
The CCA is a public housing assisted living concept jointly developed by the Ministry of National Development (MND), Ministry of Health (MOH), and HDB that integrates senior-friendly housing with on-site social activities and care services that can be customised according to an individual's care needs.
This is the third CCA project to be launched after Harmony Village @ Bukit Batok and Queensway Canopy.
"If the model of care provision proves to be effective and scalable, we will ramp up the supply of CCAs, and launch up to 30 CCAs in different locations across Singapore by 2030," HDB said.

The CCAs are part of the 1,234 flats at Chai Chee Green Build-to-Order (BTO) development in Bedok. Apart from the CCA, Chai Chee Green will also offer 3-room, 4-room, and 5-room flats. The flats will have wait times ranging from three years three months to three years seven months.
How to apply for a HDB CCA
To apply for a CCA, HDB said, applicants and their spouse (if any) must be 65 years old and above. The eligible buyer can choose a lease ranging from 15 to 35 years – in five-year increments – that covers them until they are at least 95 years old.
Some flats will be reserved for seniors with care needs, where at least one applicant or essential occupier requires permanent assistance with his or her activities of daily living.
Senior-friendly HDB flats
HDB said that each CCA unit will come equipped with senior-friendly fittings. These include grab bars, wheelchair-accessible bathrooms with slip-resistant flooring, and wide wheelchair-friendly main doors with a built-in bench beside the entrance.
Those flats, at about 32 sq m each, will also come with a built-in wardrobe, cabinets, and a furnished kitchen, to allow seniors to move in quickly with minimal renovations.
CCA flats, HDB said, are paired with essential services where residents will subscribe to a Basic Service Package, which includes services such as 24-hour emergency monitoring and response, and basic health checks.
An onsite community manager will also help to link residents up with relevant care service providers according to their needs and assist with simple household fixes.
Access to social and communal facilities will also be made easy. Bus services are easily available and various MRT stations are located nearby: Bedok North Station on the Downtown Line, and Bedok Station and Kembangan Station on the East West Line.
Seniors who are interested to learn more about the CCA at Chai Chee Green can make an appointment to visit the physical exhibition at the Atrium of HDB Hub from Thursday (30 November).
