GOBankingRates analyzed cities across Florida and determined the best ones to retire on $2,600 a month by looking at quality-of-life (QoL) scores and the monthly total cost of living.

Pensacola

You might want to check out Pensacola as a place to retire. It’s located in Florida’s panhandle and is surrounded by more than 50 miles of coastline — offering the atmosphere of a relaxed beach town combined with a bustling metro area. The monthly total cost of living after Social Security benefits is about $1,500.

In addition, Pensacola has a high QoL score of 83. You’ll also find good company, as about 20% of the population is aged 65 or older. Overall, this area is known for its friendliness and nice climate and temperatures

Titusville

Perhaps you want to live close to Orlando but not in that area itself. Check out Titusville, which is about 50 minutes east of Orlando. In addition to a good monthly cost of living, you’ll find lots of activities for retirees.

According to Visit Florida, “Titusville, home to three major bicycle trails, is also a popular destination for cyclists who come to ride the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail, which runs from Canaveral National Seashore to St. Petersburg, the St Johns River-to-Sea Loop and the East Coast Greenway, which runs from Key West to Maine.”

Lake Panasoffkee

Check out Lake Panasoffkee as a place for retirement. As you might imagine, it’s known for great outdoor recreation options. In addition, the GOBankingRates analysis found the monthly total cost of living after Social Security benefits is about $1,200. It has a QoL score of 73 and about 22% of the population is aged 65 or older.

South Daytona

You may be happily surprised to see South Daytona on this list — especially when you see the modest cost for retirees to live here. The monthly total cost of living after Social Security benefits is about $1,700. In addition, it has a high QoL score of 82. If you’re looking for company, about 22% of the population is aged 65 or older.

Daytona Beach

The final spot on our list is Daytona Beach. According to RentCafe, the cost of living here is lower than the national average. In addition, Daytona Beach has a high QoL score of 80. According to the GOBankingRates analysis, the monthly total cost of living after Social Security benefits is about $1,700 in Daytona Beach.
