Tesla has adjusted its model lineup in a bid to boost sales of its most popular vehicle. The new version is more attractive than the old—and looks like a good deal—while tax credits continue to skew value in the U.S. electric-vehicle market. Over the weekend, Tesla added a long-range rear-wheel drive Model Y to its website that gets about 320 miles of range per charge.
The UAW also notched up a historic victory when workers at the Volkswagen Chattanooga, Tennessee plant voted to join the union, as President Shawn Fain tries to organize non-union U.S. auto factories, most of them built by Asian and European automakers in southern U.S. states. Meanwhile, focus is on voting between May 13 and May 17 at a Mercedes assembly plant in Alabama on whether to join the UAW.
Apple, Amazon, Nvidia and Tesla have been highlighted in this Earnings Preview article.
