The largest stocks in the S&P 500 have seen the biggest gains in 2024 as the group has shown stronger earnings growth and a resilience to higher interest rates.
The US Supreme Court has decided to hear an appeal from Meta Platforms (META), or Facebook, as the company was known when the shareholder lawsuit was filed. Meta wants the court to dismiss a suit brought by investors who are accusing the company of misleading them about the data-harvesting scandal involving Cambridge Analytica.
