How major US stock indexes fared Friday, 6/21/2024
The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged higher by less than 0.1%, and the Nasdaq composite fell 0.2%. U.S. Treasury yields held steady after a preliminary report suggested U.S. business activity is stronger than expected while pressure on inflation remains muted. The Nasdaq composite fell 32.23 points, or 0.2%, to 17,689.36.

Nasdaq Takes the Lead. For Now.
Now it’s the Nasdaq Composite that’s leading and the Dow that’s lagging. The witches are at it again. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.2% in Friday afternoon trading, while the S&P 500 was flat. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down just 10 points, which is pretty much breakeven.
