Why IBM's CEO disagrees with Warren Buffett's stance on AI

At the annual Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-A,BRK-B) shareholders meeting, Warren Buffett spoke on a range of subjects including his concerns about AI. The CEO compared the dangers of AI's potential misuse to that of nuclear weapons. IBM (IBM) CEO Arvind Krishna joins Yahoo Finance Anchors Brian Sozzi and Akiko Fujita at the Annual Milken Global Institute Conference to discuss why he disagrees with Warren Buffett's stance on AI. Krishna dismisses the danger: "I actually have no such fear. So I'm putting it black and white. I think there's a lot of people who hypothesize, and as you have seen in many technologies, thinking that the rate of progress which has been 100 times over the last 3, 4 years, is going to be another 100 to 1000 times. But just for the current AI, we need this much infrastructure and power for it to be 100 to 1000 times...I think it's a little fantastical to keep predicting that it carries on on an exponential curve." What investors can learn from Warren Buffett's latest remarks

Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett (BRK-A, BRK-B) spoke at the company's annual shareholders meeting on Saturday, May 4, in Omaha, Nebraska, The list of topics the "Oracle of Omaha" covered ranged from AI to Paramount Global's (PARA) ongoing acquisition talks with bidders. CFRA Vice President of Equity Research Cathy Seifert joins Wealth! to give insight into Warren Buffett's appearance and the key takeaways from his remarks. "I think investors can take away two key tenants: diversification and time is on your side. [Buffett] is not an active trader, he's definitely a buy-and-hold sort of investor," Seifert points out. "I think people might have been a little surprised at the large slug of Apple (AAPL) stock that Berkshire sold. I think that's an appropriate rebalancing, given how well the stock had done for the company. I mean, it hasn't done that great this year, but historically for Berkshire, it's done well." What Warren Buffett's market insights could mean for investors

During Berkshire Hathaway's (BRK-A, BRK-B) annual shareholders meeting, Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett discussed the investment firm's record-high cash pile, key market players, and major industry trends. Smead Capital CEO Cole Smead joins Catalysts to break down what Buffett's insights could mean for investors. Despite Berkshire Hathaway's sky-high capital, Buffett said he saw no $10 billion investment opportunities, Smead explains. "That was the biggest megaphone experience people should've had," Smead says, adding that investors should "wake up" to the fact that there are few big opportunities in the current market. Buffett also warned of the threat self-driving vehicles pose to auto insurers, which prompted Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk to invite the investing legend to take a position in the company. Smead tells Seana Smith and Madison Mills that he believes there's "not a chance in God's name" Buffett would take interest in the electric vehicle company.
