How will Amazon compete in AI chips?

In tech, competition is key. It forces companies to work hard on unique values and products that offer solutions where their competitors fail. With Nvidia's (NVDA) rapid AI domination, it leaves one to wonder how Amazon (AMZN) will carve a space in this market. On Opening Bid with Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi, Neuberger Berman senior research analyst Daniel Flax shares that the key for Amazon is 'bringing a level of differentiation,' both internally and through partnerships, like with Nvidia, Intel (INTC), and AMD (AMD).  For full episodes of Opening Bid, watch on our website or listen on your favorite podcast platform.

Uber's ad growth potential is just like Amazon's: Analyst

Piper Sandler has raised its price target on Uber (UBER) from $86 to $88, calling the rideshare company a "sleeping giant" in its latest note. Piper Sandler Senior Research Analyst Tom Champion joins Catalysts to give insight to his call and why he is bullish on Uber. Champion claims that his excitement for Uber comes from its potential to grow in using advertising to target users like Amazon (AMZN) has done previously: "I think the way to frame this is we've seen, over the last 6 or 8 years, Amazon build this gigantic advertising juggernaut. And a lot of this is done through sponsored listings. The ability of Amazon merchants to advertise and promote their goods. And we believe that in all transaction platforms, there exists this promotional advertising opportunity in the gig economy space... with Uber's scale, which really kind of dwarfs the rest of the space, the future looks very interesting." Amazon to launch discount section with direct shipping from China, the Information reports

The new marketplace, Amazon's most aggressive response to the growth of bargain sites like Temu and Shein, will offer unbranded fashion, home goods and daily necessities, according to the slides, and the products will be delivered between 9 to 11 days to customers, the report said. The e-commerce giant in a recent closed-door meeting told Chinese sellers it would start signing up merchants this summer and begin accepting inventory in the fall, according to the Information. "We are always exploring new ways to work with our selling partners to delight our customers with more selection, lower prices, and greater convenience," an Amazon spokesperson told Reuters when contacted for comment on the report.
