Wildfires trigger evacuation order in some areas of Canada's British Columbia

(Reuters) - The District of Wells in the Canadian province of British Columbia issued an evacuation order for some areas due to wildfires late on Wednesday, the local authority said in a statement.

An evacuation alert, which advises citizens to be prepared to leave at short notice, has been issued for most of the District of Wells and the Barkerville–Cornish Mountain Fire Area in the Cariboo Regional District, also in British Columbia in western Canada.
