Ukraine and Moldova belong to European family, Germany's Scholz says on X
FRANKFURT, Dec 14 (Reuters) - An agreement by European Union leaders on Thursday to open membership talks with Ukraine is "a strong sign of support" for Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Thursday.
"It's clear that these countries belong to the European family," Scholz said on social media platform X, referring to Ukraine and Moldova, for whom accession talks were also opened. (Reporting by Tom Sims; editing by Jonathan Oatis)
