UEM Sunrise Hosts Chinese New Year Festival For Local Community At Kiara Bay Park

UEM Sunrise Hosts Chinese New Year Festival For Local Community At Kiara Bay Park

The auspicious Chinese New Year celebrations continue for property developer UEM Sunrise together with the local communities around Kepong at the sales gallery of their flagship development Kiara Bay.

The two-day festival was filled with a host of activities and performances for visitors of all ages to enjoy. They were warmly welcomed with elaborate festive decorations at both entrances at the lake and the sales gallery that liven the upbeat atmosphere.

Among the main highlights was the acrobatic lion dance which saw the ‘prosperity lion’ performing summersaults and flips on stilts, much to the amazement of the crowd.

Following that was an energetic spectacle by the internationally acclaimed percussion group, 24 Festive Drums. Their stunning performance of heart-thumping beats and precise choreography made it a one-of-a-kind experience for the visitors.

The festival was officiated by UEM Sunrise Managing Director and CEO Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib and Melati Ehsan Group Chairman Tan Sri Yap Suan Chee, who are the joint developers of the new Kiara Bay township.

“This Chinese New Year, we want to continue our tradition of inspiring joy and happiness to the communities around us. Celebrating each other is the core of Kiara Bay’s DNA and that is what makes us unique,” said Anwar at the event.

Melati Ehsan’s Tan Sri Yap commented: “We want this festival to be a place for family and friends to gather over the weekend and enjoy the festive experience while surrounded by nature.”

Apart from the highlights, visitors were also serenaded by local musical performers such as Axel Lee, Yingz, Ryota Katayama, and more. There were also food trucks and art and crafts bazaar set up around the park for visitors to enjoy. A special appearance by the God of Prosperity proved to be a delight when many thronged to greet the Caishen ye (Chinese translation for ‘God of Prosperity’).
