Trans-cab and Prime Taxi to increase fares with effect from Dec 28
Flag-down fares will be 50 cents higher while distance and time-based charges will be up by 1 cent.
Trans-cab and Prime Taxi will be increasing fares as well as distance and time-based charges, according to notices published in The Business Times on Dec 21. From Dec 28, flag-down fares will be 50 cents higher while distance and time-based charges will be up by 1 cent.
The move comes after ComfortDelGro announced that it will be increasing its taxi fare structure on Dec 6. The new fares were effective from Dec 13 onwards.
With the increments, Trans-cab’s flag-down rate will be at $4.60 for its smaller taxis while its fleet of Toyota Alphards will cost $5.50 onwards. Prime Taxi’s flag-down rate will be at $4.60 for all of its 1.5-litre taxis and its Toyota Prius cabs. The rate will start from $4.80 for Prime Taxi’s Toyota Noah and Toyota Corola cabs. The flag-down rate for Prime Taxi’s bigger cabs will remain unchanged at $5.
