SLA signs MOU with MOHT and Singhealth Community Hospitals to enhance health and social services

SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) has signed two separate memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Health’s Office for Healthcare Transformation (MOHT) and SingHealth Community Hospitals respectively to improve healthcare services.

The agreement with MOHT aims to enhance the Digital Local Connect initiative, which consolidates information from health and social services for community partners, grassroots volunteers and general practitioners to support residents in their area.

The other deal with SingHealth Community Hospitals is to co-develop a living asset map of community assets and activities.

The signing ceremony was held on March 6 at Geo Connect Asia 2024, the geospatial and location intelligence industry trade show and conference and was witnessed by Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law. This is the fourth edition of the annual conference.

Colin Low, chief executive of SLA, says that the national geospatial and mapping agency aims to drive collaboration between public and private agencies, as well as the community. “Industry platforms like Geo Connect Asia foster innovation, empower individuals and businesses to leverage the transformative technologies not just for economic development, but to create smarter, geo-enabled outcomes for a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.”

Last year, SLA and the Container Depot and Logistics Association (Singapore) signed an agreement to use geospatial data to route heavy vehicles more efficiently and safely.

At the event, Minister Edwin Tong also unveiled new initiatives and partnerships between SLA and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to expand the mainstream use of geospatial technology.
