Singapore’s Southern IX Performing Arts acquires popular South Korean artiste training school, aims for 2025 IPO

Singapore-based entertainment company Southern IX Performing Arts has completed the acquisition of Bornstar Training Center.

Singapore-based entertainment company Southern IX Performing Arts has completed the acquisition of a leading South Korean artiste training school, Bornstar Training Center.

The Southern IX team was involved in the creation of now-defunct K-pop groups Skarf and OhBliss, among others. As part of the entertainment company’s expansion plans, Southern IX CEO Alan Chan is mulling a 2025 IPO to “become a powerhouse” in the entertainment industry, although this is subject to various factors.

The company currently holds a total of 21 branches across the region and has future plans including establishing its second regional headquarters in Singapore and opening additional outlets throughout the Asian region.

“This represents a significant step forward in our mission to empower aspiring talents with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in the entertainment industry,” says Chan.

In addition to the acquisition, he explains the company’s plans to unveil the launch of several talent groups under its brandings, Southern IX Talent and Southern IX Entertainment. The talent groups set to debut this year include Purple Princess, The Maria and The Passion.

The company plans to host annual regional auditions to continue its discovery and nurturing of new talents, offering aspiring performers opportunities to train under the guidance of industry experts.

“We are also pleased to announce that we are collaborating with the renowned Hollywood-trained AP Tan and her team in LA (Fred Caruso, David Kang, Joshua Reis, Dave Goldberg and Perry Ho in China) to produce content,” adds Chan.

This collaboration, working in tandem with the company’s recent acquisition, is part of Southern IX Performing Arts’ plans to establish its presence on a global scale.
