Singapore May core inflation at 3.1% y/y
SINGAPORE, June 24 (Reuters) - Singapore's key inflation gauge rose 3.1% in May on a year-on-year basis, just above economists' forecasts, official data showed on Monday.
The core inflation rate, which excludes private road transport and accommodation costs, was above the 3.0% forecast by a Reuters poll of economists and unchanged from April.
Headline inflation in May was up 3.1% from the same month last year, also just higher than a 3.05% forecast in the poll, and compared with a 2.7% rise in April. (Reporting by Yantoultra Ngui and Xinghui Kok; Editing by John Mair)
