SIA Engineering appoints Chin Yau Seng as CEO designate

Chin will be succeeded by Marvin Tan, currently SIA’s senior vice president customer services and operations.

SIA Engineering Company S59 has appointed Singapore Airlines (SIA) C6L senior vice president cargo Chin Yau Seng as its CEO (designate), effective June 1.

Ng Chin Hwee, SIA Engineering's current CEO, is set to retire with effect from Oct 1. He will relinquish his directorship and memberships of the executive committee and board sustainability of the company on the same date.

Chin assumed his current position in 2018, when SIA Cargo was integrated as a division within SIA. Prior to that, he was president of SIA Cargo.

Chin spearheaded multiple key digitalisation initiatives with the cargo division, as well as the launch of the Parxl e-commerce platform and the freighter partnership with DHL Express. He also led the SIA Cargo team in delivering much-needed revenues for SIA during the pandemic.

He will be succeeded by Marvin Tan, currently SIA’s senior vice president customer services and operations. Tan led the transformation of SIA’s customer contact services worldwide and has also been instrumental in leading the company’s on-ground response to the pandemic.

Tan was previously SIA’s senior vice president cabin crew and chief executive at SilkAir.

Shares in SIA Engineering closed 3 cents higher or 1.33% up at $2.28
