SC Capital Partners strengthens team with four senior hires

EDGEPROP (SINGAPORE) - SC Capital Partners Group announced four new appointments on Oct 5.

Man Yik Chiu is appointed the managing director and head of asset management for its Real Estate Capital Asia Partners series of opportunistic funds, June Kim Kyoung Joon is the executive director for its Japan Hospitality Fund, Justin Cham is the investment director and Jester Perez is the research director.

Chiu is based in Hong Kong and manages investments across the Asia Pacific region. He was previously at CapitaLand Investment Management, responsible for overseeing all assets in the fund, including the development and execution of asset enhancement plans.

Prior to joining CapitaLand, Chiu had spent 13 years with LaSalle Investment Management as the head of asset management of Greater China.

Chiu has over 33 years of experience in the real estate industry and a proven track record in the acquisition and asset management of real estate portfolios of stabilised assets, value-add projects and greenfield developments.

Kim is based in Tokyo and is responsible for the acquisition, value enhancement and realisation activities for Japan Hospitality Fund.

She was previously the director of asset management of hotels at EGW Asset Management for five years, working on asset management of the hotel portfolio across Japan supporting the hotel acquisition process, hotel development and developed relationships with Korean institutional investors.

Prior to EGW, Kim had been the vice president for hotel acquisitions and asset management at  Fortress Investment Group Japan. She has over 17 years of experience in the Japan real estate industry.

Cham is based in Singapore and will be responsible for acquisitions, asset management, value enhancement and realisation.

Previously, Cham was the head of global investments at Keppel Capital and Keppel DC REIT for six years. Prior to Keppel, he had handled real estate acquisitions at MEAG Pacific Star Asia, and portfolio and fund management of an Asia Pacific real estate fund at PGIM Real Estate. Earlier in his career, Cham was with DBS Bank’s investment banking team.

Perez is based in Singapore and oversees internal research across the firm’s strategies in the Asia Pacific market.

He joins from Lendlease where he oversaw the research in Asia providing research house views and strategic insights for 10 years. Prior to Lendlease, Perez had been at Jones Lang LaSalle Sydney as a research manager for five years. He has over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate.
