Sats kicks off lounge upgrade programme with the first in Changi Airport Terminal 3
The upgraded lounge will feature a menu showcasing iconic Singaporean dishes in a heritage-inspired setting.
Ground-handler Sats will be enhancing its network of airport lounges in Singapore to improve the pre-flight and transit travel experience for its airline customers, starting with the upgraded Sats premier lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 3 which opens today.
The upgraded lounge will feature a menu showcasing iconic Singaporean dishes such as laksa, chicken rice, and prawn noodles, alongside new hawker fare. Sats will also collaborate with six renowned local hawker, food and beverage brands, Beach Road prawn noodle house, Boon Tong Kee chicken rice, Killiney, Downstairs by Song Fa, Rumah Makan Minang and Ponggol nasi lemak.
Furthermore, the lounge, designed in collaboration with local artists and students, will combine culinary heritage with innovative interior aesthetics, taking inspiration from ornamental designs of Peranakan tiles. The tiles will feature the national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid and the Crimson Sunbird, the unofficial national bird of Singapore.
“Millions of people visit the Sats lounges in Changi each year. With inputs from airlines and passengers, we were able to reimagine the lounge as a space for travellers where food, culture and hospitality experiences converge and enrich their experience of Singapore,” says Sats group president and CEO, Kerry Mok.
As at 2.07 pm, shares in Sats are trading 11 cents higher or 3.89% up at $2.94.
