Salomon on Friday opened the doors to its new flagship store in Paris on the famous Champs-Élysées street.
According to a release from the brand, the 295 square meter store, located at 42 Avenues des Champs-Élysées, marks the first mountain sports lifestyle store on the famous shopping street.
The location features an assortment of the Amer Sports-owned brand’s footwear, apparel and gear for running, hiking and winter sports. The store also includes an “innovation wall” to give consumers a look into new product developments from the brand, as well as a 2D foot scanner and a sneaker wall with sportstyle shoe products.
“We are incredibly proud to open this flagship store location on the Champs-Élysées,” said Pascal Clausse, vice president of global retail for Salomon, in a statement. “As a 77-year-old mountain sports brand that was born in a small workshop here in Annecy in the French Alps, this new brand store on the Champs-Élysées represents yet another milestone on our journey. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to share our passion for the mountain sports lifestyle with our growing community in the world’s most recognized shopping district.”
The location, which marks Solomon’s fourth brand store in Paris, opens just in time for the summer Olympic Games in the city. In April, Solomon opened its first-ever Sportstyle store located in Paris’ Le Marais neighborhood.
That store features more of an emphasis on the brand’s lifestyle products, including footwear collaborations with notable designers and shoes like its Advanced label and the XT-6 model. Amer Sports’ chief executive officer Jie (James) Zheng said last month that sales at Salomon’s new footwear-focused sportstyle store in Paris have blown past expectations, which he said is a testament to the power of the brand’s new lines as well as its more established product.
Salomon is the latest athletic footwear brand to open a location in Paris. Hoka recently opened its first shop in Paris at 35 Boulevard des Capucines in the buzzy Opéra neighborhood. And On Running said it expects to open its second Paris store on the Champs-Élysées by the summer.
Amer’s outdoor performance segment, which includes the company’s Salomon brand, saw revenues grow 6 percent to $400 million in the first quarter. Zheng said that “footwear will be the key growth engine” for Salomon, which has seen the category grow in both China and APAC.
