- Globalive Capital Inc founder and chairman Anthony Lacavera is leading a bid to acquire Wealth One Bank of Canada, a Toronto-based financial institution that is subject to extraordinary national security conditions imposed by the federal Finance Minister.

- Canada Nickel Company Inc announced plans to build two large processing facilities near Timmins, Ontario, whose output would be directed partly to North America's rapidly growing market for electric vehicles.
