Former CBS Media Ventures licensing and distribution executive Jonathan Bingaman has been named President, Domestic Multi-Platform Licensing & Distribution for Paramount Global Content Distribution. He will report to Dan Cohen, Chief Content Licensing Officer, Paramount Global and President, Republic Pictures, who announced the appointment in a note to staff.

Bingaman will continue with many of his former responsibilities during his time at CBS, heading content licensing in the U.S. outside of sales to local stations for first-run syndicated shows, he will be adding SVOD, FVOD, cable and digital distribution. His team already has secured second window licensing opportunities for CBS Studios series, including early seasons of Evil, which immediately launched into the top 10 on Netflix.

During his time as EVP, Domestic Licensing and Distribution at CBS Media Ventures, Bing oversaw the sales of all first-run content including the launch of the The Drew Barrymore Show, the library sale of Judge Judy, and the off-net launch of The Neighborhood and WOW – Women of Wrestline across multiple platforms.

You can read Cohen’s memo to staff in full below.

Team,

I’m happy to let everyone know that Jonathan Bingaman has been named President, Domestic Multi-Platform Licensing & Distribution for Paramount Global Content Distribution reporting to me.

In addition to retaining many of his former responsibilities heading content licensing in the U.S. outside of the sales to the local stations for the first run syndicated shows, Bing’s new purview includes SVOD, FVOD, cable and digital distribution. He already hit the ground running in the new role, including his team securing second window licensing opportunities for CBS Studios series, including early seasons of EVIL, which immediately launched into the top 10 on Netflix.

Since 2019, I, and many of you, have had the pleasure of collaborating with the innovative and well-respected Bing during his tenure as EVP, Domestic Licensing and Distribution at CBS Media Ventures. Before leaving CMV, Bing oversaw the sales of all first-run content including the launch of the THE DREW BARRYMORE SHOW, the successful library sale of JUDGE JUDY, and the off-net launch of THE NEIGHBORHOOD and WOW – WOMEN OF WRESTLING across multiple platforms.

I think you’ll all agree that it’s great to have him on-board as an official fulltime member of our team!

Bing is a true company guy, with more than 20 years of sales experience in various roles at Paramount/CMV/CBS Television Distribution. Please join me in congratulating Bing as he segues to our group fulltime, officially!

Dan
