Online betting firm Flutter taps Disney veteran to join board of directors (July 1)

Christine McCarthy, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, The Walt Disney Company smiles as she speaks during the Milken Institute's 22nd annual Global Conference in Beverly Hills

(This July 1 story has been corrected to say that the company's headquarters is in New York, not Dublin, in paragraph 6)

(Reuters) - Flutter Entertainment, the world's largest online betting firm, said on Monday it has appointed Walt Disney's former finance chief Christine McCarthy to its board of directors.

The company also added Robert Bennett, former director at Warner Bros Discovery, to its board.

McCarthy will sit on Flutter's audit committee and Bennett will serve as a member of the risk and sustainability committee as part of the appointments, effective July 30.

McCarthy is a 23-year Disney veteran who became CFO of the company in 2015, which she held until June last year. During her tenure, she has held several leadership roles at Disney and is currently a director at Procter & Gamble.

Bennett has previously been the president and chief executive officer of Liberty Media. He is currently a director at HP and Liberty Media.

In May, New York-based Flutter named Rob Coldrake as its new group CFO replacing Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson, who would also be stepping down from his role as executive director.
