No customer data has been compromised in the outage and their monies remain safe, says an OCBC spokesperson.

The Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation’s (OCBC) O39 channels were impacted by a “technical problem”, says the bank’s spokesperson in an Aug 28 statement.

On its website, the bank announced that its banking services were down due to “network issues”. According to its Facebook post at around 9.40am, it added that it was facing “technical problems with our systems impacting our banking channels”.

As at 10.37am, the bank’s ATM services, as well as card and branch services have been restored.

According to the bank’s spokesperson, the bank’s internet banking, mobile banking, as well as Velocity channels are still impacted.

“We are on standby to deploy additional resources at branches and extend branch banking hours to support our customers. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank our customers for their patience and understanding. We will provide updates as soon as they are available,” adds the spokesperson.

The spokesperson also noted that no customer data has been compromised in the outage and that their monies remain safe.

As at 12.23pm, OCBC announced that its banking services have been restored.

“Our customers can perform banking transactions at our branches, ATMs, Internet and mobile banking platforms, and Velocity. Cards services have also been restored. We thank our customers for their patience and understanding. We want to assure them that their monies remained safe and customer data was secured throughout. We are investigating the cause of the technical problem and will provide an update as soon as we can. Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience caused," says the spokesperson.
