NTT DATA: newly united and ready for the digital future

Stronger than ever before, NTT DATA is a one-stop global solutions provider and innovator with deep industry expertise

Stronger than ever before, NTT DATA is a one-stop global solutions provider and innovator with deep industry expertise

To innovate and excel on a global scale, you need a laser-focused global strategy. This is why Japan’s NTT Group has unified its overseas businesses, including NTT Ltd, under the NTT DATA banner in the past year.

Now, with more than 190,000 employees in over 50 countries – including 14 across the Asia Pacific region – the newly united NTT DATA delivers compelling business and technology solutions and consulting services across applications, operations and infrastructure.

By combining global reach with local expertise and technological capabilities, the company is disrupting industries for good, ranging from healthcare, manufacturing and financial services to the public sector.

NTT DATA focuses on cloud computing, networks, cybersecurity, technology solutions, data centers and more to realize a digital future for its clients – backed up by a robust digital backbone and state-of-the-art data center infrastructure around the world.

The reorganisation of the business has also created an inclusive work environment with no geographic limitations. The workforce reflects the diversity of NTT DATA’s clients and their communities across the world, with cross-border teams delivering effective and unified solutions to every client.

Always innovating

NTT DATA’s clients need a partner who can help them differentiate themselves – fast. Technology is a catalyst for introducing new ways of thinking and working. But, while innovation thrives on technology and research, true breakthroughs stem from collaboration.

The company invests US$3.6 billion ($4.8 billion) in research and development every year and works closely with the world’s most transformative technology companies – including Cisco, Microsoft, SAP, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Salesforce – to find solutions today for the complex challenges of tomorrow.

For example, it is pioneering digital twins – virtual representations that gather data from their physical counterpart (a single machine, a system or an entire environment such as a smart building) – to enhance modeling and prediction. Digital twins are already making a difference in factories, power-grid controls, event management and urban planning, benefiting businesses and communities alike.

Innovation also does not happen in a vacuum. NTT DATA takes advantage of the growing convergence of IT and connectivity services to connect people and things, and to manage its clients’ applications, data and infrastructure to save them money and help them work more efficiently.

For instance, by combining AI and machine learning with IoT and edge computing technologies in smart cities, NTT DATA enables government authorities act proactively to keep their citizens safe.

Sustainability matters

NTT DATA’s unwavering commitment to innovation extends to its sustainability goals, too. The company aims to achieve net-zero emissions across its operations by 2030, and across its value chain by 2040 – and it is already a leader in carbon management, according to a global EcoVadis assessment.

NTT DATA Singapore’s Aperia office transformation is a great example of the company’s sustainability progress. It has formed part of a long-term office integration project to bring together more than 2,000 Singapore-based employees from 10 office sites and six business entities.

In this project, sustainability was a key consideration alongside factors like employee experience and cost savings. The company deployed smart-office technology (for monitoring the use of facilities, booking rooms and more) to create a positive user experience conducive to productivity – all while migrating to the cloud, using green data-center colocation services and reducing its hardware consumption.

However, NTT DATA’s sustainability ambitions are not only about its own operations. The company also supports its clients’ journeys to net-zero through green technology and digital sustainability services.

In Singapore, it has been awarded a tender by EV-Electric Charging (EVe), the company orchestrating the rollout of Singapore’s largest public charging network for electric vehicles, to implement an innovative data platform that will provide real-time insights and improve EVe’s operational efficiency and user experience while contributing to its sustainability efforts.

And, because of NTT DATA’s expertise in finding data-driven digital solutions that support a more sustainable future, it ranks near the top of its industry in S&P Global ESG Scores across the environmental, social, and governance and economic categories.
