Neon Promotes Elissa Federoff To Chief Distribution Officer & Ryan Friscia To CFO

Neon has made some key promotions within its team, upping Elissa Federoff from President of Distribution to Chief Distribution Officer and Ryan Friscia from EVP, Finance and Business Development to Chief Financial Officer.

Federoff has been with Neon since its inception in 2017. In her new role, she will continue to oversee the company’s release strategy across all of its titles in commercial chains and art circuits. The company recently released Michael Mohan’s Immaculate starring Sydney Sweeney, which grossed more than $16M at the box office and last year released Anatomy of a Fall, which was nominated for five Oscars and won one for Best Original Screenplay.

Friscia has been with Neon since 2020 when he joined as a finance executive with an eye towards growth and innovation. He played a pivotal role in the financial and operational strategy of the company as it has evolved and expanded their operations. Friscia has leveraged his relationships and closed a credit facility for Neon with the focus on expanding their production capabilities and foreign presales and he has also overseen production financing of projects such as Tilman Singer’s upcoming Hunter Schafer starrer Cuckoo (on which he is an exec producer) and Brandon Cronenberg’s body horror film Infinity Pool. Following their collaboration with Waypoint on Cuckoo, Friscia brought in Ken Kao’s banner and signed a slate deal.

“Elissa and Ryan have been integral to building Neon into a one-of-a-kind home for some of today’s most exciting auteurs as well as growing our 100+ film collection into the best cinema available anywhere in the world,” said Neon CEO Tom Quinn in a statement. “I can’t wait to see what they do next.”

Neon recently acquired North American rights to Julia Ducournau’s upcoming genre pic Alpha. The company also pre-bought Ducournau’s 2021 Palme d’Or winner Titane. Last year in advance of the Venice Film Festival, Neon launched an international sales strand headed up by Sierra/Affinity veteran Kristen Figeroid and is launching sales on Osgood Perkins’ Keeper here in Cannes.
