MOVES-Vitol expands Singapore oil trading team with three new hires -sources

SINGAPORE, Aug 28 (Reuters) - Vitol Group, the world's largest independent oil trading house, has hired three traders in recent months for its crude, gasoil and fuel oil teams in Singapore, three trade sources said.

The company is expanding its Singapore office, responsible for its Asia trading activities, during the coronavirus pandemic which has seen several trading companies going under following the oil price collapse in April.

In July, former BP gasoil trader Nebil Mahaboob and Edmund Lee, a fuel oil trader previously from Shell, joined Vitol, the sources said. Lee is trading crude at Vitol.

Vincent Wong, a fuel oil trader previously from Mitsui Energy Trading Singapore, joined Vitol in the second quarter, the sources said.

Vitol did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Vitol has stepped up fuel trading in the region, having returned to Myanmar as a fuel supplier in April for the first time in months after Hin Leong Trading Pte Ltd left the market.
