This is the most sought-after street to buy a house in Liverpool right now
With all eyes on Liverpool this week as the city prepares to host the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday (13th May), property experts at Rightmove have revealed the most-sought after location to buy a house in the city right now.
Diving into the latest trends in the city of Liverpool and its surrounding areas, the most searched for location to buy a property in Liverpool is Formby, followed by Crosby and Maghull.
Formby is a costal town located in Merseyside, with its own National Trust site where many rare and common plants and animals call home. Think natterjack toads, sand lizards, red squirrels and a variety of wildflowers, plus over 1,000 moth and butterfly species.
It's a popular spot for tourists looking to escape the city and enjoy the beaches, sand dunes and wildlife. It's also home to one of the most expensive roads in the whole country: Shireburn Road. Unsurprisingly, the most viewed home in the Liverpool area in April was a beautiful five-bedroom, five-bathroom home on Shireburn Road, listed for £3,200,000.

Rightmove also found that the average asking price for a home in Liverpool is now £208,120, rising by four per cent over the last year. Meanwhile, the average asking rent is £1,000 per calendar month, which has risen by seven per cent since last year.
What's more, nearly two thirds (64 per cent) of would-be buyers living in Liverpool are enquiring to see homes within the city, compared to 61 per cent last year. When it comes to renters, 65 per cent of those living in Liverpool are looking to move within the city, which is down from 67 per cent last year.
'Cities like Liverpool have become more popular with buyers again as people find a balance between flexible working patterns and being near to an office space and the amenities of a large city,' says Rightmove's property expert Tim Bannister. 'For renters it's a slightly different story, as record rents and a shortage of available homes means many renters need to cast their net wider and look outside of cities to find an available home within their budget.'
