Maggie Smith is the face of the new Loewe campaign
With so many fashion and beauty campaigns constantly being released – and some of the world's biggest stars fronting them, often in daring looks to boot – it takes something major to cut through all the noise.
One brand that has always managed to do so, however, is Jonathan Anderson's Loewe, going big on artistic, avant-garde photography courtesy of some of the biggest names in the industry, who seem to have a penchant for selecting some seriously unexpected models too.
For AW22, for example, Loewe's campaign featured none other than screen legend Anthony Hopkins wearing a colourful donut-covered top, studded trench and cult Loewe Flow trainers. Naturally, it surprised and delighted the fashion world.
But we predict that the reaction to the brand's latest campaign star will be even bigger. Why? Because it's centred around none other than the one and only Maggie Smith.
That's right, the 88-year-old, Oscar-winning actor has just been revealed as the face of Loewe's SS24 pre-collection – and doesn't she look amazing?
Known for starring roles in everything from Downton Abbey to Harry Potter, Maggie has put her transfiguration skills to use once more to become a high-fashion model for the day.
Shot by Juergen Teller, in one photo she can be seen sitting on a colourful sofa rocking a stunning black and white dress, while in another she poses in a green and brown shearling coat while holding the brand's cult Puzzle bag.
There really is only one word for this: iconic.
