SINGAPORE (EDGEPROP) - The Exchange TRX, the lifestyle precinct of the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) in Kuala Lumpur, is set to open in 4Q2023. According to developer Landlease, The Exchange TRX will have more than 400 stores across four retail levels, with 1.3 million sq ft of total net lettable area.

Mitch Wilson, project director for The Exchange TRX and head of retail for Lendlease Malaysia, says that the lifestyle precinct is envisioned as a “city-defining project” within TRX. “As a global organisation, we will showcase our international placemaking expertise alongside our 43-year history in Malaysia to introduce our signature approach to experiential retail.”

Wilson adds that occupancy levels at The Exchange TRC are “well ahead of market ratios”. “We believe the diverse retail mix complemented by dynamic leisure and entertainment activations will serve as a key point of differentiation and will drive visitors to linger longer and make repeated visits.”

The Exchange TRX will have a 10-acre rooftop public-activated park. Called TRX City Park, it is designed by Lendlease in partnership with landscape architects Oculus & Pentago. It will include children’s play areas, water features, and shaded enclaves. It will also serve as a venue to host exhibitions and events.
