Lick’s 2024 Colour Palette of the Year unveiled
Home decor brand Lick have released their colour palette of 2024. Responding to existing trends as well as colour psychology theories, the colour experts have curated a palette of eight core colours broken down into three key moods that will define the year ahead.
The desire to reflect the natural world outdoors, choosing to decorate with earthy, muted and nature-inspired hues will continue into 2024. 'Grey-based neutrals are being swapped for warmer, yellow-based neutrals,' says Tash Bradley, director of interior design and colour psychologist at Lick.
Yet, we are still embracing the mood-boosting properties of bright colour. The second group in the palette consists of blues and greens that 'make a room feel bigger, brighter and will leave you feeling refreshed,' says Tash. The final group includes reds and oranges, described as 'social colours' with the 'ability to stimulate, energise, and spark conversation'.
Take a look at the core eight colours below...
• Grounding Neutrals
White 05
Neutral number one is an off-white with subtle yellow undertones. It's a warm tone that is particularly useful in spaces that lack natural light.
Beige 02
Second on the list is a light brown beige inspired by 'earth and wood'. This milky coffee brown is ideal layered with earthy reds or accented with bright whites.
Beige 03
The final neutral is an off-white with a slight grey tint. It's a good alternative to a pure pale grey that doesn't risk feeling cold.
• Uplifting Blues and Greens
Blue 03
A pale sea-mist green-blue that would look lovely in a kitchen paired with white.
Green 08
A stronger green with blue undertones, this colour is vivid, vibrant and uplifting.
Green 14
A bold leafy green designed to transport you to a forest. Combine with wooden accents and plenty of natural textures.
• Energising Reds and Orange
Orange 05
This apricot-like orange evokes the popular 70s interiors trend and is just asking to be paired with teak.
Red 03
A slightly smokey red with rosey undertones. Refined and feminine, it would look elegant in a living room or bedroom.
