Kwek Eik Sheng appointed as non-independent non-executive director of CDLHT

CDLHT, on Oct 18, also announced several changes to its board.

Kwek Eik Sheng has been appointed as a non-independent non-executive director of CDL Hospitality Trusts (CDLHT) on Oct 18.

Kwek, who is the elder son of the late Kwek Leng Joo, former deputy chairman of City Developments Limited (CDL) and the nephew of Kwek Leng Beng, the executive chairman of CDL, was appointed as CDL’s group chief operating officer (GCOO) on Dec 28, 2021.

The younger Kwek’s appointment as GCOO was effective from Jan 1 onwards.

In addition to his roles, Kwek is also the executive director of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Limited (M&C), a substantial stapled securityholder of CDLHT.

CDLHT, on Oct 18, also announced several changes to its board.

One of the changes include the appointment of Chan Soon Hee, Eric as the chairman of CDLHT’s nominating and remuneration committees (NRCs) with effect from Oct 20.

Chan replaces outgoing chairman Ronald Seah Lim Siang, who is stepping down from the boards of the managers of CDLHT, as he would have served on both boards as independent director for nine years on Oct 20. With his cessation, Seah will also step down from his position of chairman of CDLHT’s NRCs and member of the audit and risk committees of CDLHT’s managers.

Units in CDLHT closed 1 cent higher or 0.99% up at $1.02 on Oct 18.
