Koh Brothers and Koh Brothers Eco Engineering hit by cybersecurity incident

Investigations of the incident are currently ongoing.

Koh Brothers Group and Koh Brothers Eco Engineering 5hv, on Dec 4, announced that both companies were recently hit by a cyber attack.

The incident resulted in unauthorised access to, and the encryption of certain of their servers. According to the group, it promptly took steps to contain, respond to and address the incident including disconnecting the affected servers from the network and preventing further unauthorised access to its IT network. It has also engaged incident response experts and external legal counsel to assess, respond to and manage the incident, which has since been contained.

“At this juncture, the company is not able to assess the extent of the impact of the incident on the group and its operations. The group’s business continues to be operational notwithstanding the incident,” say both Koh Brothers Group K75 and Koh Brothers Eco Engineering in their statement.

“The company takes IT security risks seriously and is conducting a rigorous review of the Incident and its IT systems to ensure that they remain robust, and that the data it is entrusted with remains safe and secure. This includes deploying advanced tools to remediate the intrusion and to restore the affected systems,” they add.

Investigations of the incident are currently ongoing.

Shares in Koh Brothers Group and Koh Brothers Eco Engineering closed at 12.6 cents and 2.3 cents respectively on Dec 1.
