Yahoo Finance Huawei calls for tech innovations to build an inclusive and sustainable Singapore
Youths aged between 18 and 35 can register for the Tech4City Competition to win a grand prize of $15,000.
Huawei is now accepting applications for its Tech4City Competition 2023 in Singapore. The competition seeks tech innovations that could create help improve productivity and sustainability in the areas of well-being, learning, mobility, finance and energy.
Youths aged between 18 and 35 can register for the competition here in teams of two and four. They will get access to a series of monthly dialogues organised by Huawei. Those sessions will see industry experts, academia, and professionals sharing their insights and knowledge with the teams before the proposal submission deadline on July 23.
Sixteen teams will then be shortlisted and assigned mentors before the next video submission on August 20. Thereafter, the top eight teams will be mentored and coached in preparation for the final round in September, when finalists will pitch their solutions to the competition’s advisory council.
The winning teams will be awarded cash prizes of $15,000 (grand prize), $8,000 (second prize), and $5,000 (third prize) in cash. Teams that come in fourth to eighth positions will also receive $1,000 each in cash. There will also be an additional cash prize of $3,000 for the best innovation in mobility, sponsored by SBS Transit.

It is also in line with Singapore’s vision towards a digitally inclusive society, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to embrace the digital-first world.”
To build a more vibrant ecosystem for youths and enable them to create social impact, the Tech4City Community has expanded its group of partners to include:
Government agencies Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Health Promotion Board (HPB)
Industry partners such as SBS Transit, SGTech, and SingHealth
Knowledge partners including Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School, NUS Enterprise, SMU College of Integrative Studies (CIS), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
Community partners such as Business China and Global Green Economic Foundation.
