Hiap Seng latest victim of cyber attack

Hiap Seng fell under ransomware attack recently, with no material impact on its operations. Investigations are ongoing.

Hiap Seng Industries announces that it was the subject of a ransomware incident recently, where an unknown party gained unauthorised access to the company’s servers.

Upon discovering the incident, the company immediately took containment steps by isolating its servers from the network, and activating restoration and recovery steps for continuity of business and operations.

As at July 2, there has been no material impact to its business operations arising from this incident, and Hiap Seng has appointed third-party experts to carry out forensic investigations on the incident, and advise on strengthening its overall cybersecurity.

The incident has also been reported to the relevant authorities and investigations are currently ongoing.

Shares in Hiap Seng closed at 0.5 cents on July 2.
