Haw Par Corporation appoints Wee Ee Chao as chairman
Wee, currently the deputy chairman, replaces his father, the late Wee Cho Yaw, in the role.
Haw Par Corporation has appointed Wee Ee Chao as its chairman.
Wee, who is currently the deputy chairman and non-executive and non-independent director of the company, replaces his father, the late Wee Cho Yaw, in the role.
Wee Cho Yaw was a substantial shareholder of Haw Par Corp up to Feb 3, when he passed. He joined the company's board in 1975 before becoming its chairman since 1978.
Ee Chao’s brother, Ee Lim, is also a substantial shareholder of the company. Ee Lim is also the president and CEO, as well as an executive and non-independent director of the company. The third brother, Ee Cheong, deputy chairman and CEO of United Overseas Bank U11
, is also a substantial shareholder of Haw Par Corp.
Shares in Haw Par Corp closed 1 cent lower or 0.1% down at $9.76 on Feb 26.
