Hachette Lays Off Seven At Its Little, Brown Imprint
Hachette Book Group has laid off seven employees at its Little, Brown imprint today, the company announced.
The layoffs were described as part of a corporate restructuring, but is viewed by some as yet another sign of a struggling book publishing industry.

Among the seven people being laid off include the editors Tracy Sherrod, Pronoy Sarkar, Jean Garnett and Ben George, according to the New York Times, quoting a source.
A Hachette spokeswoman told the Times that the restructuring was not a cost-cutting measure. As part of the restructuring, the company said, it will hire in new roles.
