‘Days of Our Lives’ star Arianne Zucker files sexual harassment lawsuit against show’s producers

Soap opera star Arianne Zucker has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the producers of “Days of Our Lives.”

Zucker’s suit claims former co-executive producer Albert Alarr sexually harassed her and other women who worked on the show, according to TMZ. Corday Production Inc. and executive producer Ken Corday are also named in the suit.

Zucker claims Alarr subjected her to nonconsensual touching and made sexually harassing comments to her and others during his employment. He also allegedly told male co-stars he would “love to switch positions” with them while filming sex scenes with Zucker, and would routinely say “good thing there is no HR here.”

The suit alleges that Alarr’s behavior was known to other producers, but the company never took any action.

Last March, Zucker reportedly made complaints to Corday, which were routed to the human resources department at co-producer Sony. During the investigation that followed, Zucker says her “pay was cut in retaliation,” according to Variety.

She goes on to claim the show’s producers gave her a bad faith “take it or leave it” during contract negotiations, which ultimately led her to being written off the show in June.

Alarr meanwhile was fired from the show in August, though the suit claims that only occurred after the investigation was made public.

Alarr has denied many of the allegations against him and said others have been mischaracterized, claiming the accusations were brought by people who were simply angling for better pay.

On Wednesday, Robert M. Barta, attorney for Albert Alarr, described Zucker’s lawsuit as “baseless” and “outrageous.”

“As Ms. Zucker’s own lawsuit all but admits, at a time of industry-wide cutbacks, she was aggressively seeking a significant personal pay increase and additional influence on the show,” Barta said in a statement to the Daily News. “Having failed in those attempts, she is now — again — trying to exploit vile stereotypes to denigrate and demean a Black man who was in a position of power.”

“Every day for decades, Albert worked with hundreds of people who can — and will — testify about the falsity of Ms. Zucker’s mischaracterizations of him,” the statement continues. “We relish having a chance to share the truth and putting an end to her offensive claims once and for all.”

Zucker, who played Nicole on the long-running soap since 1998, is reportedly suing for harassment, discrimination, retaliation, negligent hiring and supervision, and wrongful termination. She’s seeking unspecified damages.
