Brazil's Guillen says external scenario now 'adverse'

SAO PAULO, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Brazil's central bank director Diogo Guillen said on Thursday the monetary authority now sees the external scenario as "adverse", citing resilient core inflation, geopolitical conflicts and higher U.S. Treasury yields as factors behind the view.

"There was a progression on how we described the international scenario," Guillen said at an event hosted by Itau BBA, noting the central bank had to be cautious.

"First we dubbed it 'uncertain', then 'more uncertain'; now it's 'adverse'". (Reporting by Gabriel Araujo and Fernando Cardoso; Editing by Steven Grattan)
