Shapiro's feature only lasts about 30 seconds, but he uses the time to diss Nicki Minaj, Lizzo and people complaining in his comment sections online. He disses Nicki Minaj, saying, "Nicki take some notes" before predicting a No. 1 spot on the Billboards charts.

Nicki Minaj Responded on X, saying, "Ben Shapiro put out a diss record. He said his comment sections are filled with woke Karens. The song is #1 on US iTunes. what is rlly happening & whos is that other man rapping???? Is this real life??!! He said "Nicki take some notes" nah AYO nah"

The other person rapping, MacDonald, has risen to fame in recent years as a prolific, independent conservative rapper. The artist has been the center of controversy for most of his career, making songs on everything from gender ideology and vaccines to the Black Lives Matter movement and cancel culture. MacDonald has over 4.3 million subscribers on YouTube, with videos reaching as many as 42 million views.

Throughout his career, MacDonald has been open about struggles with drugs, alcohol and depression, often referencing this throughout his music. After MacDonald's rise to fame, the rapper continued to document how the journey has changed his life from going sober to moving to a better neighborhood and owning a home.

MacDonald’s rise to fame highlights a growing trend among influencers launching independent brands and the rise of influencer marketing. Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, raked in over $83 million in 2023, according to Forbes. Independent artists can become their own brands and make just as much or more than those signed to record labels. YouTube, Facebook, X, TikTok and Instagram all have lucrative monetization programs. Platforms like Spotify, iTunes, YouTube Music and similar platforms have made it easy for music artists to become independent.

Even a few thousand followers can give artists a decent income on the right platform. A million views give an estimated $1,200 to $6,000 depending on click rates and topics on YouTube. This gives creators an easy and direct way to monetize. Creators can further monetize by selling advertising deals and sponsorships. MrBeast, for example, typically sells video sponsorships for hundreds of thousands of dollars. MacDonald has been able to monetize by selling albums, merchandise, CDs and more.
