Ashley Sargent Price Joins Left on Friday, a Swim and Lifestyle Brand, as Chief Creative Officer

Ashley Sargent Price has joined Left on Friday, the Vancouver, Canada-based direct-to-consumer swim and lifestyle brand, as chief creative officer, a new post.

Most recently, Price had been senior vice president, creative director at Madewell for two years, and left last November. She had been at the company earlier in her career as well. Her responsibilities included overseeing not only Madewell, but also J. Crew brands, including men’s, women’s and crewcuts.

Prior to her most recent role at Madewell, Price was chief creative officer of Beautycounter, before which she was senior vice president creative director, Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister. She has also held strategic creative roles at Goop, Bergdorf’s and Anthropologie.

Price, who will work remotely from Ohio, reports to Laura Low Ah Kee, cofounder and chief executive officer of Left on Friday. She founded the brand with Shannon Savage.

Price will work with the founders to support the brand’s growth. She will oversee brand creative, while Savage will continue to oversee product and design. The company has offices in both Vancouver and Los Angeles.

Left on Friday has been busy on several fronts. As reported this spring, Left on Friday has designed the Canadian women’s beach volleyball team’s uniforms for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

The company will open a pop-up on Monday at 228 Mott Street North in New York, and has just signed a long-term lease at 1402 Abbot Kinney for a permanent store in Los Angeles, its first in the U.S. Price will oversee the visual aspects of both spaces.

The New York City pop-up will feature a series of monthlong, full-color takeovers of the entire space, floor to ceiling, inspired by some of the brand’s signature colors, featuring pink and red in July, a tonal range of green and blue in August, and neutrals in September.
