Amanda Holden and Alan Carr's Italian Job returns to BBC One for second series
Amanda Holden and Alan Carr's The Italian Job will return to BBC One for a second series.
Following the success of series one, the TV duo will once again renovate, redecorate and restore a bargain 'one Euro' house – this time in rural Tuscany.
Testing their DIY skills, Amanda and Alan will join forces with a new team of local tradespeople as they transform the dilapidated historic home, complete with a medieval tower, into a rental property.
Much like the first series, they will be embracing local life, exploring the rich culture and throwing themselves headfirst into a new adventure in one of Italy's most idyllic regions. Once it has been completed, all proceeds will be split between Comic Relief and Children in Need.
'I'm obviously absolutely delighted that Alan and I have been given a second series of a show that we created together,' says Amanda.
'This time I'm considering ditching my nail extensions but I'll certainly be keeping the lashes! I've got the Aperol Spritz on ice and I'm being fitted for a new boiler suit as we speak! I adore Alan and this job suits us both perfectly. The sweetest thing about it all is that we can continue to raise more money for charities that make a huge difference to the lives of so many.'
Alan adds: 'So excited to be returning to Italy with my good friend Amanda for more blood sweat and tiles. Can't wait to roll up my sleeves and transform another Euro house. What could possible go wrong?!!'
Casa Alamanda from series one, located in the medieval town of Salemi, Sicily, is in the process of being sold for €145,000 (£127,500). After tackling it from the ground up, the fully furnished two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment now boasts a spacious lounge, dining room, modern kitchen, and three balconies each offering picturesque views of the surrounding landscape.
