Airship AI Holdings Insiders May Regret Not Buying More, Market Cap Hits US$108m

Airship AI Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AISP) insiders who purchased shares in the last 12 months were richly rewarded last week. The stock climbed by 16% resulting in a US$15m addition to the company’s market value. In other words, the original US$114.9k purchase is now worth US$280.2k.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Airship AI Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when CEO & Chairman of the Board Victor Huang bought US$115k worth of shares at a price of US$2.15 per share. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of US$4.67. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.

Does Airship AI Holdings Boast High Insider Ownership?

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. It's great to see that Airship AI Holdings insiders own 68% of the company, worth about US$74m. Most shareholders would be happy to see this sort of insider ownership, since it suggests that management incentives are well aligned with other shareholders.
