Yahoo Finance AI Titans Clash: Anthropic's CEO Mocks OpenAI, Says "All Our 7 Founders Are Still Here"
During a recent Bloomberg interview, Anthropic's co-founders, Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei, discussed their AI developments and company ethos, drawing a stark contrast with the turbulence seen at OpenAI, a former employer of the founders.
Dario Amodei highlighted the stability of Anthropic, noting, "We have seven co-founders, and three and a half years later, we're all still at the company."
This comment subtly highlighted the contrast between Anthropic and OpenAI, which has experienced notable departures among its original founding members.

One notable departure from OpenAI was Elon Musk, who has not only left but also filed a lawsuit against the company.
Musk's legal action insists that OpenAI should adhere to its original ‘founding agreement,’ emphasizing the development of AI technologies for the "benefit of humanity." Musk, dissatisfied with the company's shift toward profit-oriented goals, has since initiated his own AI venture, X.AI.
The ethos at Anthropic seems to echo a similar sentiment to Musk's initial vision for OpenAI.
"We’ve always held a strong moral compass, aiming to develop these tools in a manner that is responsible, safe, and reliable," Daniela Amodei remarked during the interview.

This foundational principle was a driving factor for the Amodeis and their colleagues when they decided to part ways with OpenAI and founded Anthropic in 2021.
Competing strongly with OpenAI, Anthropic has raised $7.6 billion from investors with $2.75 billion being invested by Amazon in March and $2 billion from Google last year.
The landscape of OpenAI has been notably dramatic. The company made headlines last year when CEO Sam Altman was temporarily removed from his position due to a "lack of trust," only to be reinstated shortly after.
Another founding member, Andrej Karpathy, also left OpenAI earlier this year. He noted on X (formerly Twitter), "Hi everyone yes, I left OpenAI yesterday. First of all nothing ‘happened' and it's not a result of any particular event, issue or drama (but please keep the conspiracy theories coming as they are highly entertaining :))."
The narrative at OpenAI contrasts sharply with the stability touted by Anthropic as it continues to grow and define its path in the competitive AI industry.
