Here’s a look at five of the most affordable cities in New York State.

1. Rochester

According to the law firm of Cole, Sorrentino, Hurley, Hewner & Gambino, Rochester is one of the most affordable cities in New York State. The median home value here is about $86,000, making it one of the most affordable places to live in the state.

“Additionally, the city has a thriving arts and culture scene, with a variety of museums, galleries, and music venues to explore,” according to the law firm.

2. Syracuse

If you love snow, check out Syracuse. Yes, it’s known for the snowy winters, but Syracuse also has affordable housing. You’ll find a median home value of $84,500 and a wide range of housing options.

3. Buffalo

Also making the list of most affordable cities in New York State is Buffalo, which has seen a resurgence in recent years. Along with a median home value around $80,500, you’ll find a fun arts and culture scene.

4. Rome

It may be a bit more expensive than other cities on this list, but Rome is another place to check out for affordable options.

According to AD Mortgage, “It is a quiet and spacious community with an abundance of recreational activities, and it’s also pleasantly affordable.” The median home value is about $104,000.

5. Ilion
