The Market’s Fear Gauge Is Calming Down

After spiking earlier in the day, the market’s fear gauge pulled back Tuesday afternoon ahead of a key inflation reading and updates from Federal Reserve officials. The CBOE Volatility Index, or VIX, was only up about 0.6% to 12.81 in recent trading. The VIX hit 13.47 Tuesday morning.
