Zemmour Briefly Put in Headlock at Campaign Rally in Paris

Eric Zemmour, the right-wing commentator-turned-French presidential candidate, was briefly put in a headlock while making his entry to his first campaign rally in Paris on December 5.

Video streamed live by the Zemmour campaign from Parc des Expositions de Villepinte shows Zemmour walking towards the stage surrounded by security. People can be seen reaching out to him from the crowd, before one person lunges forwards, wrapping his arms around Zemmour’s head. The man is quickly apprehended by security.

Other verified footage from the rally shows a man being punched as he’s led out of the rally. The man can later be seen writhing on the ground as others flee the venue. According to a reporter citing his team, Zemmour received a wrist injury.

Anti-racism protesters disrupted Sunday’s rally, as opponents of Zemmour gathered in the Barbes neighborhood in Paris.
